4/5 Boone Speedway 1st 17th Boone Frostbuster - Drew #8, started outside front row of the 2nd heat. They farmed the track just before the modified heats. The track was pretty tacky when we went out. Got the lead going into turn 1. Lead the entire heat with a couple cautions. Drew #11 for the feature. Fell back to 12th at the beginning. Moved up to 8th by halfway. On a restart the #73 went to the bottom going into turn 1. I was in the middle. Coming off of 2 the 73 moved towards the wall. My LF touched his RR and shot the car into the wall. Our night was done. Not the best way to start off the season..
4/19 Boone Speedway 8th -3rd in the B 13th You know it's going to be a long night when you bleed the clutch at 3:00 and blow out an O-ring in the throw out bearing. After fixing the O-ring, we got to the track just before the races started. We were put on the tail of the 3rd heat. With the rain we got the last couple of days, the track was heavy, rough, and one lane around the middle. The car was a tick too tight and every time I'd get under someone to pass them, the front end would wash out, so we finished 8th. We had to start 11th in the B. After avoiding an early wreck, we picked off cars one by one. With 3 to go we got to 5th and they took 4. Going for 4th, the 2nd place car checked up and I got into the 3rd place car, spinning him out. Sorry Denny. We finished 3rd. Started 23rd in the feature. Avoided a first lap pile up, moved up to 14th. Once we got going the car worked good when I didn't hit the holes. We moved up to 9th or so. With about 5 to go I moved up a line and that wasn't the right choice. The track was rough and the car didn't agree with the holes. We fell back to 14th. Raced the E18 the last couple of laps for 13th, that's where we finished. A long night, but a much better night than 2 weeks ago

4/26 Boone Speedway 1st 3rd Started 4th in the heat, moved up to 2nd about halfway.  Got the lead just before the yellow came out.  Won the heat.  Started 6th in the feature.  Moved up to 4th after 2 laps running the middle.  The middle went away and everyone moved to the bottom.  Worked on the #19j for 3rd for quote a few laps.  Passed for 3rd with about 8 to go.  Reeled in 2nd a little, then stayed a few car lengths back to the finish.  The car worked good with a good top 5 finish.
5/3 Boone Speedway 6th 18th
Supposed to start 7th in the heat, but the polesitter went to the back, so we started 5th.  Couldn't go anywhere and the rear brakes kept locking up.  We finished 6th.  Fixed the RR hub before the feature.  Started 17th.  Moved up a couple positions when I stabbed the brakes to keep from hitting the 58.  The car died, got going again in last.  Moved up a few positions again then the 75 and 33d got together and I didn't have anywhere to go.  Coasted to the infield after the impact and got going again.  After a yellow with about 5 to go we passed a few cars and finished 18th.   Luckily the only damage from the wreck is cosmetic, although the clutch needs rebuilt and the brakes need looked at.  Last week the windshield, this week the bug.
5/11 Stuart Speedway 4th 7th Stuart 5/11
Since Boone got rained out, we decided to head to Stuart International Raceway.  We missed the first night so we had to start at the tail of the heat.  After contact with the 42B and a quick trip through the infield, we were a straight away behind 4th.  We caught up to 4th and avoided him almost spinning out.  We moved up to 4th and catching 3rd when the checkered flew.  We started 12th in the feature.  The track was somewhat rough with dry slick patches.  We avoid an early wreck, passed a couple cars early.  Once I started avoiding the holes, we were gaining on the pack.  After a restart with 3 to go, the right rear tire was done.  We held on to finish 7th.  Congrats to Josh "Happy" Gilman on the win.

5/16 Boone Speedway 5th 6th Started 5th in the heat, moved up to 3rd early.  Had a caution about halfway through. The bottom went away in 1 & 2, the front wouldn't stick on the bottom and the car didn't have any forward bite off of 2.  With 2 to go the 27 and 19 got by, we finished 5th.  We made a few changes to the car and started 15th in the feature.  After numerous cautions and what seemed like a marathon to get 9 laps in, we avoided the carnage and moved up to 8th.  Passed a couple cars and avoided another wreck to move to 5th.  With about 6 laps to go the motor started to lay down.  The 58 got inside us when the yellow came about.  On the restart we got beside the 19j for 4th.  With the motor going south, I ran the bottom and tried keeping up my momentum.  On the last lap the 58 got by for 5th.  We finished 6th and found out after the race the head gasket blew between #3 and #4, so not a bad finish on 6/7 cylinders.  Congrats to Todd Shute on the win!

5/24 Boone Speedway 5th 16th Started 5th in the heat, finished 4th.  Supposed to start 6th in the feature but the 4P scratched so we started 4th.  With us running after the Sportmods, the track was in the middle.  Going into turn 1 on the first lap the car pushed up, once I got it pointed in the right direction, we fell back to 5th.  Worked the middle of the track and moved to 4th.  Moved to 3rd on a restart, then passed for 2nd a few laps later.  The car was working good.  With 5 laps to go the #27 had about a 1/2 a straightaway lead.  Lapped traffic slowed him down and we were a few car lengths back. With 2 to go we are coming up on a pair of lapped cars, one of them for the 2nd time when one of the cars pinched off the corner to avoid the other.  I had to climb on the brakes to keep from hitting him, killing the motor and stalling the car.  Since the leader took the white flag, they threw the yellow checkers, relegating us to a 16th place finish.  Congrats to Kelly Lyons on the win.
5/25 Stuart Speedway 4th 4th We headed down to Stuart for the Ron Little Memorial.  We drew #8 which put us starting 3rd in the 1st heat.  Going for the green the car wouldn’t go into gear, dropping us to the tail.  Finally in gear, it was time to play catch up.  We were in 8th and the top 5 redrew.  We moved up to 7th when the 19 dropped out. Then the 83g and 77c got together, allowing us to get by them and the 131 in the process.  We finished 4th.  Re-drew #9 out of 10.  The 78 pulled back to the pits while we were waiting to go out, putting us 7th.  The track was rough in the corners.  Once I figured out to put the RR just below the ruts, the car worked good.  We moved up to 5th and stayed there until 2 to go when the leader got together with a lapped car bringing out the yellow/checker, we finished 4th.  Congrats to Randy Havlik on the win.
5/26 Boone Speedway 2nd 5th Supposed to start 5th in the heat, but the 4P scratched, so we started 3rd.  The track was dry slick and around the very bottom.  We stayed in 3rd 'til the 5R was running with a flat RR and we passed him for 2nd.  Got behind the 49J and finished 2nd.  We finally got a good re-draw and drew the pole.  With the 83G beside us at the start, we ran side by side for quite a few laps.  When a caution came out 5 laps in, we were in 1st.  Kept the lead for a couple laps after the restart 'til the 69 got by on the bottom.  A few laps later he pulled off with mechanical problems.  We led 'til a caution just after halfway.  On the restart, a combination of the bottom going away and the LR sealing over left us with no forward bite.  The 28R got by on the high side.  I should've moved up, but without a throttle return spring since lap 2, I didn't want to chance running the top and the throttle sticking.  We stayed on the bottom and fell back to 4th.  With a couple laps to go, the 49J got by, we ended up 5th.  The car worked good even with the issues it had.  A good top 5 to end the 3 day racing weekend.  Congrats to Russ Dickerson on the win in his new Victory Chassis.
5/31 Boone Speedway 2nd 15th Started 5th in the heat, the track was one groove around the middle.  We were running 4th when the leader broke, then passed the 49t for 2nd, ended up finishing 2nd.  Started 6th in the feature.  Moved up to 4th on the 2nd lap.  The cushion was in the middle of the track, making the groove very narrow.  Running 4th in the lead pack 'til about 1/2 way through when the 3rd place car cut from the outside to the middle going into 3.  We were inside of him, had to lock the car down to keep from hitting him, causing the car to spin and collect the 58.  We got going again in about 10th position.   With the toe knocked in about 1", the car was a handful. Trying to pass for 9th, but the tires to the wall line is hard to overcome.  With 5 to go a car spun in 2, as we went around him, I went to the outside, while the 9th place car went to the inside.  Just as the yellow came out, the 9th place car came across the LF, putting him in the wall and cutting the LF tire.  The crew changed the tire and we went back out.  Gained a few positions and finished 14th.  The car was working good until the spin.  Not the best of nights, including the post race festivities.  Congrats to Todd Shute and the IBTC on the win!

6/7 Boone Speedway 1st 10th Started 7th in the 2nd of 2 heats.  Moved up to 2nd after 3 laps.  The next lap the leader broke coming off 2, after bumping him when he moved to the middle, we moved to 1st and won the heat.  With rain possibly moving in, the track wasn't farmed before the features.  We started 6th and the outside wasn't the place to be.  From the drop of the green, we got freight trained back to about 12th.  The car worked good on the bottom, but turn 1 had a pretty big hole on the bottom, so I moved up high all the way around.  We moved back up to 10th when a caution came out with 2 to go.  We couldn't move forward after the restart and finished 10th.  Overall a good night and the car's in one piece, with the new bumper broken in.  Congrats to Todd Shute and crew on the win.
6/14 Boone Speedway 4th 13th Started 5th in the heat, moved up to 4th.  Racing for 3rd when the 58 moved under us.  It was a 3 way battle for 3rd and 4th was the last invert spot.  Going into 3 &4 on the last lap I moved to the middle.  Coming off of 4 we got a run, after some contact with the 58, we finished 4th.  Started 7th in the feature.  On the first lap, coming off of 2, the front row made contact causing a chain reaction.  I thought we had it cleared but the 33m came across the track into our RF, knocking us into the 5, causing the 5 to get airborne.  Luckily we came out of the wreck without any major damage, so I thought.  After going a lap with the 5 stopped on the backstretch, the car seemed in good shape.  We were running in 8th when a yellow came out about halfway.  I could feel the RF had issues.  A lap before the restart I was signaled I had a flat.  Went to the work area to change it but couldn't get back out before the green.  A restart 3 laps later gave us a chance to get back in the race.  We restarted 12th and avoided a wreck and passed a couple cars.  We finished 9th on the track but were scored in 13th, 2 laps down.  Not the best of nights, but it could've been worse.
6/21 Boone Speedway 2nd 6th Started 4th in the heat, moved to 3rd on the first lap.  Raced the #6 side by side for a few laps 'til finally getting by.  The leader had checked out, we finished 2nd making the invert.  Started 7th in the feature.  On the first start we moved up to 4th going down the backstretch, but the yellow came out just as we got to the flagstand.  On the 2nd try at the start, the 5th place starter got smart and moved to the bottom going into 1, causing us to go lower than expected, after sliding through the mud, we fell back to 10th, then 11th with the RF packed with mud.  During a caution after 5 laps, I worked the mud out of the RF.  Once we got going again, we passed a few cars and avoided a couple of spins.  Running 6th with 2 to go I got beside the 58 for 5th.  After a couple of tries, I made one last move coming off of 4.  I got beside him, but couldn't complete the pass, we finished 6th.  Congrats to Todd "Drive it like you won't drive it again" Shute on the win.
6/28 Boone Speedway 8th 9th Started 6th in the heat, racing for 5th when the 5th place car cut from the top to the bottom going into 3, the 4th place car checked up, causing a chain reaction, I clipped the LF of the 33m, launching the car in to the air.  After the car landed in the infield, I got going again.  A yellow came out 2 laps later.  We re-started 9th.  Passed the 15x and working on the 43s at the checker, we finished 8th.  Started 15th in the feature.  Went to the bottom early, passed 2 cars on the first lap, avoided a spin on the second lap.  The field got strung out a bit then bunched back up about 1/2 way through.  With no yellows we were able to pass a couple more cars.  The bottom started going away but we held on to finish 9th.  Not the best of nights, but only body damage to fix and regular maintenance for the week.
7/5 Boone Speedway 5th 19th Started 7th in the heat.  Moved to 6th on the first lap.  Moved to 5th on the 4th lap.  Raced the 58 for 4th but the track was 1 groove around the bottom, we finished 5th, the final invert spot.  Started 8th in the feature.  Going into turn 1 on the first lap I clipped the 58 in the RR, sending the car to the top, we fell back to 9th but moved back to 8th the next lap.  Avoided a spin and moved to 7th.  About 6 laps in the 24 got sideways going into 3.  With nowhere to go, I got into the back of him.  Luckily I got going again without losing a spot.  Unluckily as soon as I crossed the start finish line, the motor popped, sputtered and died.  I coasted to the infield and tried firing it back up but no luck.  After I got pushed back to the pits, we found we sheared the roll pin that holds the distributor gear in place.  The bad part is a 50 cent piece ended our chances of a solid finish.  The good part is the car worked great all night.
7/12 Boone Speedway 5th 11th Started 6th in the heat.  Moved up to 4th about halfway through.  The 69 got by with 2 to go, we finished 5th.  Started 7th in the feature.  Hung out the first couple of laps.  Had to check up for the car ahead of me, two cars got by. We were in a 6 car pack for most of the race.  We move up to 9th with about 5 to go.  Working on the 6 car for 8th.  Tried getting a run on the bottom, couldn't get by.  Got a run on the top only to get shoved over the cushion, 3 cars got by.  A yellow came out on the last lap, we finished 12th.  Not the best of nights but luckily the car's in one piece, with the exception of some body work.  Congrats to Scott Baker on the win.  Fix the body, change gears, and check everything over for Thursday at Knoxville
